Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
To measure our progress relative to CMU 2010’s priorities, we are establishing some Key Performance Indicators. These KPIs have been recommended by the ISPC and the president has asked the Vice Presidents to review them from the perspectives of their divisions. We hope to have a comprehensive list of KPIs, as well as an idea of which of the KPIs are the most important to CMU by mid March. The ISPC has noted evidence of progress on some of the measures we may choose as KPIs. For example, between 2004 and 2006, four first-year student National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE) benchmarks scores have significantly increased, according to the Office of Institutional Research. We are also finding CMU students are significantly more likely to engage in community service, volunteer work and learning communities. These findings are directly aligned with strategies within CMU’s top priority: Teaching and Learning. They document the effectiveness of many of our colleagues within the academic division who are assuring CMU students are promoting their learning through active engagement in their learning and communities. This is something we are doing well and one reason CMU is such a popular place to go to school.
CMU 2010 Projects
A total of 21 projects have been funded by the Vision Fund to date. 13 of those projects were funded in FY06 and 8 projects were funded in FY07. There were 20 proposals submitted for FY08: 7 for Priority I, 5 for Priority II, 3 for Priority III, 4 for Priority IV, and 1 for Priority V. These proposals are currently under review and the proposals selected for funding will be announced in April.
Next Steps
The ISPC and its subcommittees are taking the following steps to further the progress made toward CMU 2010:- Complete the FY08 RFP process
