CMU 2010: An overview

CMU 2010, the five-year vision plan that CMU put into motion last year, is moving forward.
Across the university, initiatives related to the goals of CMU 2010 are emerging – a few of which are funded by 2010 monies and others which don’t receive special funding but are still an important part of the university’s vision.

Decisions regarding funding of second-year initiatives (FY07) will be announced soon. This inaugural issue of the 2010 newsletter provides updates on first-year (FY06) initiatives, as well as information about upcoming events and deadlines and how to get involved.

Catherine Riordan, vice provost for academic affairs, is helping to organize what she views as a “grassroots” approach to long-term university planning. She shares here her thoughts on the planning process and the future of 2010.
