Presentations address individual unit interests
A valuable resource is available to help members of the university community more fully understand CMU 2010.
The CMU 2010 Communications Committee has
developed a speaker’s bureau to provide detailed
information and answers to any questions about CMU’s strategic plan and related topics.
Speaker’s bureau presentations for university programs, departments, and colleges will
address various subjects, including:
• Updates on the achievement of CMU 2010 priorities
• Tips for responding to a CMU 2010 Request for Proposals
• Specific ideas and questions of individual units
“We’re trying to customize our delivery,” said Carole Richardson, chair of the CMU 2010 Communications Committee. “We want to
disseminate the information unit by unit so that we can address the concerns of each
unit individually.”
In addition to serving as chair of the CMU 2010 Communications Committee, Richardson works in Academic Affairs as director of special projects and Title III project manager.
Speakers bureau presentations also provide a forum for the committee to solicit feedback from individual CMU units regarding CMU 2010’s effectiveness in achieving national prominence in the five priority areas of:
• Teaching and learning
• Diversity and global perspectives
• Research and creative activity
• Public service
• Culture of integrity
“People know these are important priorities, and they want to know how their efforts fit into these five priorities,” Richardson said.
“Clearly if we’re going to succeed in achieving the vision, every single one of us has to be a player.”
