PRIORITY II Related Measures

Key Performance Indicators, if they are to be “key”, must be relatively few in number. However, there are numerous related indicators or measures which support the KPIs and/or provide important supplementary information. It is important to note that this list is preliminary and may change as more input is gathered.  Below you will find Related Measures to the KPIs for Priority II, Diversity & Global Perspectives

1.  Percentage of senior students that have responded “Often” or “Very Often” to the following question: “…during the current school year, about how often have you …had serious conversations with students of a different race or ethnicity than your own"

2.  Graduating undergraduate students from an underrepresented group as a percentage of the total graduating student count

3.  Staff responses to the following statement: “I feel that diversifying the campus should be a higher priority at CMU”

4.  Staff responses to the following statement: “Employees at CMU support and promote diversity”

5.  Staff responses to the following statement:  “CMU embraces diversity and is welcoming of people from many cultures”

6.  Staff responses to the following statement:  “I feel my diversity is respected at CMU”

7.  Primarily first-year and sophomore students in residence halls response to the following question:  "To what degree have you: Interacted with residents who are different from you (i.e., race/ethnicity, beliefs, etc)”

8.  Percentage of primarily first-year and sophomore students in residence halls that responded highly on the  following question:  "To what degree have you: Benefitted from interactions with residents who are different from you (i.e., race/ethnicity, beliefs, etc)”

9.  University courses with instructional components addressing diversity and global issues

10.  Off-Campus Support for Diversity (ProfEd, Quality Story survey question)

11.  Students from Underrepresented Groups (percentage)
